💫 Celebrating the Results from Our Third Volunteer Survey

At Maryam Support Line, our volunteers are the heart of everything we do. Their compassion, patience, and time are what make it possible for us to be there for sisters when they need us most. We've now completed our third annual volunteer survey, and as always, we want to share what we learned — the parts we're proud of, and the parts we're still working on, In Sha Allah.

✨ Highlights from the Third Volunteer Survey

💯 100% Satisfaction, Alhamdulillah Every volunteer who responded told us they are satisfied or very satisfied with their experience, with three in four saying "very satisfied." Fittingly, most respondents (75%) have now taken 7 or more calls, so this reflects the view of a genuinely experienced group of volunteers.

💬 100% Feel Supported, Always Just like our first two surveys, every volunteer said they always feel supported by the team. This one means a lot to us — it tells us that even as we grow, that sense of care hasn't slipped.

📣 Communication Stays Strong 100% of volunteers rated our communication as Good or Excellent, with three in four calling it Excellent.

📚 Training Holds Up Well 83% of volunteers feel adequately trained for their role, with the remainder feeling "somewhat" prepared — a gentle signal that there's more we can do here. We already have a library of training videos volunteers can revisit anytime, and going forward we'll be promoting it more so everyone knows it's there, In Sha Allah.

💖 A Meaningful Impact Two in three volunteers feel their contributions are making a meaningful impact "absolutely," and the rest feel this is true "somewhat." Not one volunteer felt otherwise — everyone feels their time here matters.

🌱 What Volunteers Enjoy Most

When we asked what volunteers love most about their role, the answers echoed our first two surveys beautifully — being a listening ear, and helping for the sake of Allah:

  • "To be able to support a sister just for the sake of Allah and make a positive impact."

  • "Being able to help change lives by the permission of Allah."

  • "When sisters say they feel better after speaking to someone."

Reading through these, we're reminded why this work matters. Every volunteer described something about connection, comfort, or the simple relief of feeling heard — which is, after all, exactly what Maryam Support Line exists to give.

🌟 Comparing Then and Now

After our second survey, we introduced our buddy system to help volunteers feel more connected to one another, and it was very well received at the time. This round, connection is still a live area of growth: most volunteers feel "somewhat" connected to one another, one feels "very much" connected, and two shared they feel "not really" connected. It's clear that building community across a remote team isn't a one-and-done fix, and it remains a genuine focus for us going forward, In Sha Allah.

📈 What We Heard: Room to Grow

One clear theme came through in this round of feedback:

  • Longer call slots — a couple of volunteers felt that 25 minutes goes by quickly and wondered whether calls could run a little longer.

We're taking this on board and will be looking at how to act on it in the coming months, In Sha Allah.

💌 To Our Volunteers: Thank You

To every volunteer who took the time to complete this survey — and to every one of you who shows up, week after week, to listen, to support, and to remind a sister she is not alone — Jazakallahu Khair. Your honesty in this survey, including where things could be better, is itself a gift to us; it's how we keep improving.

May Allah accept your efforts, ease your own hearts, and multiply your reward.
