At Maryam Support Line, our volunteers are the backbone of everything we do. Their dedication, compassion, and enthusiasm are the driving force behind the emotional and spiritual support we offer to Muslim women around the world. Late last year, we conducted our first bi-annual volunteer feedback survey and were uplifted by the overwhelmingly positive response. Today, with our second survey complete, we’re even more humbled—and incredibly proud—to share how we’ve grown together.

Over this past year, through the feedback we have gathered, the need for a service like Maryam Support Line and it’s impact, has filled me with gratitude to be gifted such an honourable responsibility. I’ve seen messages from sisters saying:

“The sister was fabulous, I felt heard and listened to. She allowed me to take my time explaining all of my issues in a non-judgemental way.”

Urdu has been the most requested language, making up 70% of all foreign language calls. This reflects the deep need for culturally sensitive, faith-based support that resonates with the hearts of our sisters. Whether it’s a gentle reminder from the Qur’an, a listening ear in times of distress, or reassurance in a moment of uncertainty, we are honored to offer that in the language that brings the most ease.

Six months ago, Maryam Support Line was just a vision—a dream to provide a pillar of support for Muslim women who needed someone to listen, support, and encourage them. Today, Alhamdulillah, we are celebrating an incredible milestone: 1,000 calls answered, each one a story of resilience, courage, and sisterhood.

At Maryam Support Line, we believe that the needs of our callers must always come first. This commitment forms the foundation of our hierarchy of care, where callers sit at the top, followed by volunteers, donors, employees, and then leadership. Our approach reflects not only a best practice model but also aligns with core Islamic teachings that emphasise the rights of others and the responsibility to act justly.

At Maryam Support Line, we pride ourselves on offering a unique service that combines emotional and spiritual support with the timeless and universal wisdom of prophetic guidance. We’ve seen the transformative power of our support in action, particularly with our high-intensity users—Muslim women who, at the outset, felt overwhelmed by their challenges and leaned on our service frequently. Through regular engagement, we were able to guide these women towards independence by equipping them with prophetic tools and spiritual practices to manage their struggles.

Alhamdulillah! In just three months since our launch, we are honored to share that Maryam Support Line has reached over 500 call bookings. This milestone represents not just numbers, but heartfelt conversations, empathetic listening, and meaningful support provided to Muslim women around the world. We are immensely grateful for the volunteers, whose time, dedication, and compassion make this all possible.

At Maryam Support Line, we are incredibly blessed to be supported by a global team of 50+ dedicated volunteers from across the world. 🌍 From the UK to Mauritius, New Zealand to Nigeria, these compassionate sisters have come together with a shared mission: to provide emotional and spiritual support to Muslim women in need.

Alhamdulillah, we are thrilled to celebrate the incredible achievements of Maryam Support Line as we mark our first month of operation! Since our launch, we have received an overwhelming response from the community, taking over 200 calls from Muslim women seeking emotional support. This response is a testament to the urgent need for such a service.
