One Year of Maryam Support Line: 2000 Calls, and Incredible Impact.
It was around this time last year that Allah, in His infinite grace and mercy, placed the seed of Maryam Support Line in my heart. What began as an answer to a question – “What can I do to show you I’ve made a difference to the world?” - has grown into something greater than I could have imagined.
Today, we celebrate one year since the launch of Maryam Support Line. In just twelve months, we have answered over 2,000 calls, and now offer emotional and spiritual support in more than a dozen languages. From Arabic to Bangla, Urdu to Yoruba, sisters from all over the world have found a space where they are heard, seen, and supported.
But the success of Maryam Support Line is not because of one person. The success and impact of Maryam Support Line is a gift to all of us.
It is a gift to the volunteers, who have stepped forward with open hearts and selfless dedication. Women of different ages and backgrounds, each offering their time, energy, and compassion in service to others. For them, this is a beautifully gifted path to closeness with Allah, a way to embody His names: Ar-Rahman, As-Samee, and to earn His divine pleasure.
It is also a gift to the callers, who have reached out in their moments of grief, confusion, heartbreak, or loneliness. For them, Maryam Support Line has become a place where they can speak without fear and judgement, where they can be reminded of hope, and most importantly, where they can be reminded that He, the one above, sees them, hears them and is rooting for them.
The truth is, Maryam Support Line was born from a personal place. In my own dark hour—when the pain and emptiness felt unbearable—Allah held me. He lifted me gently through His Love and His Mercy, and invited me turn to Him. He supported me when no one else could, and in a way that no one else could. And all I wanted, all I prayed for, was to find a way to share that support with others.
And here we are.
Over this past year, through the feedback we have gathered, the need for a service like Maryam Support Line and it’s impact, has filled me with gratitude to be gifted such an honourable responsibility. I’ve seen messages from sisters saying:
“The sister was fabulous, I felt heard and listened to. She allowed me to take my time explaining all of my issues in a non-judgemental way.”

“I think it's great online service for the sisters I'm glad there are such a platform available for free.”
“The support system for us sisters is amazing”
“Felt at ease and listened too. Made me reflect and see my situation in a clear way allowing me to think with clarity.”
And I’ve realised this isn't just a support line. It's a lifeline —woven from the threads of sisterhood, love, and service to Allah.
As we mark this milestone, I want to make a dua for all of us:
May Allah bless Maryam Support Line with many more years of growth, guidance, and goodness. May He accept it from all of us as a sincere effort to serve His creation as His Noble Prophet did (saw). May He bless the volunteers for their sacrifice, uplift their hearts, and reward them in both worlds. And may He forgive us all for our mistakes and our moments of fatigue. Ameen.
This is only the beginning. And if the first year has taught us anything, it’s this:
When you walk towards Allah, even with unstable feet—He will carry you further than you ever dreamed.
